So here is this picture.
That's all I've got. I need to go put some pants on....

Pants are over rated

I love how these look. I'm scared of them.

True. But it is cold out and I really should be working on the wagovan.

Pants add weight, Colin Chapman said that less weight it better. Don't wear pants.

You are right to be afraid. Nah not really. They’re like any other luxury brand really. Parts are high, but not astronomical, and once you work through the backlog of deferred maintenance they’re pretty solid.
(I say as I forgot to post this comment as it made me remember I need to buy some parts...)

Fine, I will compromise and you may wear long underwear out

That sounds delightful actually...

Finally took mine off road last weekend. I was impressed with the traction control but CDL is a must.
Also this happened

Awesome! The CDL helps for sure as does the having the sway bar disconnect... Though the latter is a lot of faffing around.
Ouch. What happened? I got this one on the way out of Big Bend.

Fun stuff. I got the SES on the way home for a misfire, I cleared it though and it went away.
What went wrong is a bolt was backing out of the fan clutch. I was checking the coolant level and happened to notice it

What kind of linkage did you end up using for the CDL? I’m looking for one from either and 2004 or a D1 from a junkyard

That sucks, but at least it was easy to diagnose and fix. Mine was for a minor evap leak. Cleared that thing in a hurry haha. Going to try a new gas cap as the old one is looking pretty sorry anyway.
Hopefully the misfire doesn’t come back. The c oils (and therefore wires) are not the most accessible on these. Which is to say they’re a horrible pain in the butt.

I bought the linkage off a 2004 . It didn’t go well, but that was mostly because of a crappy eBay seller. Also they’re bloody expensive, but I like how clean the install ended up being.

Oh cool, I forgot about that. I’m hoping to find one at a self service junkyard so I can just take everything
